THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE
As a team manager it is your job to support the children and the coach. You are the main source of information distribution for your team. Below is a list of responsibilities and guidelines for a successful season as team manager. Be sure to DELEGATE to other team parents, half the work means twice the fun!!!!
- TEAM NUMBERS: Because so many team names can be similar it is ESSENTIAL you learn and know your team number assigned to your team, all information is based on these team numbers.
- TEAM ROSTER: Create a team roster to distribute, include cell phone numbers and e mail addresses. Use this as a starting point to let your team know how you will be communicating information with them so they know what to expect.
- SPONSORS: Each team needs to secure a sponsor. Sponsor FORMS may be printed directly from the Rocklin Youth Soccer website (log on to www.rocklinsoccer.org and click on sponsor applications). It is the RYSC policy to collect the first initial sponsorship money of $300 from every recreational team. For each ADDITIONAL $300 sponsor, the team will receive a check from the club in the amount of $50 made payable to the team manager. It is the team’s responsibility to get the sponsor plaques that the club provides out to the sponsors as soon as possible.
- FIELD CLEAN-UP: Each team is responsible for picking up trash left behind after the game. Please assign a team member to clean up before leaving the field.
- TEAM BANNER/FLAG: These can be made by a creative parent on your team or purchased. A couple of businesses that sell banners/flags are bannersusa.com, Embroid Me and zaavy.com. All costs need to be approved by the team families prior to purchasing the supplies or the banner/flag.
- AWARDS: Awards are a fun part of wrapping up the season. If your team decides to do awards you can choose trophies or medals. In general the younger the player the smaller the trophy so that as they move up the trophies get a bit larger each year. If names are to be engraved on your awards have parents sign off on the spelling of the players name to assure accuracy. Awards are provided at the discretion of and paid for by the team, everyone on the team should be approached for approval of the costs prior to ordering/purchasing awards. For something different try sweatshirts, blankets, water bottles or think up something else!
- COACH/ASSISTANT COACH RECOGNITION: It is always nice to recognize those who have given their time and effort to work with our children, please be sure to remember these folks at the end of the season! Please be sure to discuss these expenses with all team parents prior to purchasing a gift.
- END OF SEASON CELEBRATION: PLAN EARLY for your end of season event. Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, Eureka and Loomis all close out their seasons at just about the same time!!! STRIKES has been a huge supporter of RYSC this year and will be offering time slots for our end of the season parties. Other options include “bounce” parties, indoor sports at Cal Fit, ice skating, indoor fun at Golfland/Sunsplash, American Powerhouse Trampoline & Tumbling, Little Gym (for the younger teams), Flip to It, an ice cream parlor party, indoor kickball, indoor baseball or a room at the local pizza parlor to name just a few. We have so many great businesses sponsoring our teams and supporting our club, if you can give back to them by hosting your party there it would be appreciated!
- UNIFORMS: RYSC has not changed the uniform for the 2010 season. Everything is available at Extreme Soccer (near WalMart):
- Club reversible royal/white jersey
- Black soccer shorts
- Black soccer socks
- Soccer cleats
- Soccer shin guards (must be covered with socks for games)
- BALL SIZES: Each age group uses the following ball sizes:
- U6 & U8 – Size 3
- U10 & U12 – Size 4
- U14 and up – Size 5
- PHOTOS: Photo packets contain all of the information needed for this year’s photo day(s). Please be sure you are PROMPT (set up a meeting place with your team and arrive 15 min early) or your team will be passed up during the photo shoot. It is best to print a reminder to hand out to each family about your photo appointment. All photos will be taken at Twin Oaks Park.
- SPONSOR PLAQUES: These are provided by RYSC, you do not need to order additional photos, you will simply need to pick up and distribute them when they are ready. Please check Rocklin Youth Soccer website for pick – up dates / times.
- SNACKS:Snacks for mid game and/or post game are at the sole discretion of your team. Should your team decide to do snacks the mid game snack should be a healthy, juicy fruit option while the end of the game snack can be a treat of the teams choice. As Team Manager you will need to make a schedule for snacks or delegate that task.
- Player Pass Meeting: Please collect a 1”x1” photo of each member of your team and designate a team member to attend the player pass meeting (time and place TBD).
